Twitter is one of the top social media in this trend. It has got a huge number of users around the globe tweeting and retweeting in each minute. Jiwei Li and Claire Cardie at Carnegie Mellon University in Pittsburgh and Cornell University in Ithaca have designed a new system to analyze tweets send by a user and his/her followers to build-up an accurate chronology. Previously in the year 2012 Twitter trained their artificial intelligence algorithm to tell when a user is going to fall sick that too 8 days in advance. The algorithm was found to be accurate 90% of time. And now in 2013, they have come up with another mesmerizing system.

Li and Cardie have distinguished the nature of tweets into four categories – personal and non-personal, and time specific and time general within each using which they trap the user. The most challenging part of it is to find out into which category each tweets fall. Researches say that each category has distinct characteristics while considering their retweets, replies and favorites.

To test the algorithm they examined 20 ordinary twitter users and 20 celebrities over a period of 21 month. The ordinary users were asked to engrave the important events that had happened in their whole life time and the researchers used wikipedia and autobiography of celebrities to mark their life events. At the end of the analysis it was found that the algorithm generated result was able to match the most important happenings of the tested users.

But the unappealing fact is that the algorithm works out well only with users who tweet regularly and moreover must have enough followers so that the algorithm can spot-out the pattern of responses for each tweet. This algorithm can be extended to any individual with a twitter account sharing all personal information.
