Hands-free search is not only for Apple iPhones anymore. Android users! Now you can also enjoy the pride of using voice commands made easy with the new “OK Google” command. Google has upgraded its Google Now apps for your Android devices as similar to that of Siri for iOS users and released it yesterday. This update has been launched for hands-free voice command on Android and iOS operating system to improve and upgrade notifications through Google Now cards.
Google Now cards are available to you only if you are using Android jelly bean 4.1 and iPhone 4s or higher version. These cards display the most important notifications and alerts when you need them the most based on the information in your Google accounts like current location, calendar entries and browsing history.
Google has added this “OK Google” voice command first time on its Nexus 5 smart phones (partnered with LG) with Android 4.4 Kit-Kat operating system. In addition to the voice command, it has included a series of cards for the Google Now apps which includes flight updates, event tickets, reservation for rental cars and public transit information.
You can activate this touch-less search just by uttering “OK Google” and use your device to search anything on the web by making a voice command and Google will bring you the right information on your handsets. Don’t get surprised if the app talks back to you! Google Now on Kit Kat OS will enquire you based on your commands to refine your search.
If you had a search on a “notable person” using your device, then Google Now will get you each and every update of that person with a Now card, now and then by adding it to the list of cards. Google Now will also provide “deep links” to applications installed on your device.
You can ask Google to remember things for you and it will remind you at the right time. For instance, Say “Remind me to get movie tickets” or “Remind me to buy coffee beans” and Google Now will remind you at the right time. You can adjust these notifications on settings.
Won’t you be surprised to know that Google can tell you when and how to start if you are getting out for a party or anywhere else? Yupe! Google does it with the updated Google Now on Kit Kat. It gets your current location and gives details on road traffic; it guides you to reach the place at the proper time and uses Google map to show you directions and traffic. And all this is done automatically as you enter a voice command to Google for notification.
